With the joyous anticipation of a new family member next month, I've chosen to embark on a crafting adventure. The personalized quilled name sign, a gift from the heart, will perfectly accompany the arrival of a lovely baby girl named McKinley. The vibrant colors and intricate designs add a unique touch to this special gift.
I began the quilled decor project by choosing a font for the name, aiming for a playful yet bold style to enhance its visibility in the design. After considering various options, I decided on the Backpack font. Using Cricut Design Space®, I crafted the name and utilized my Cricut Maker 3 to cut the design from white kraftboard. The kraftboard's durability simplifies the process of adding paper strips around the letter edges. I prefer cutting my letter outline strips from cardstock for added strength.

After successfully finishing the outline, I begin to enjoy the creative enjoyment of freestyle quilling. I typically don't sketch a design beforehand; instead, I craft quilled elements spontaneously, selecting colors that resonate with me along the way.
I was delighted with the final quillled decor, filled with vibrant tangles and swirls. Hopefully, baby McKinley will appreciate the art as much as I enjoyed creating it.
